Elizabeth Dole launched the first attack ad against Kay this week, sponsored by her very own campaign. Of course it’s filled with lying, mudslinging and name calling.

Kay’s championed fiscal responsibility by balancing five state budgets which resulted in record investments in jobs and higher education, and earned North Carolina the distinction of being one of the best states in which to do business.
She’s invested in the right priorities to move this state forward. And of course, Kay’s been repeatedly rated as one of the top ten state senators by the non-partisan North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research.
National Republicans and Dole herself are finding it hard to publicize anything positive about her time in the U.S. Senate or her record. There is nothing they can do to erase the fact that she’s voted 92% of the time with George Bush or that she’s 93rd in terms of effectiveness in the entire U.S. Senate.
