Second Amendment Rights

Kay is a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights. Obtaining a lifetime hunting license in Kay’s family is something of a tradition, and her husband is qualified to teach hunter safety. Responsible gun ownership is not only part of the fabric of North Carolina, but it is also a fundamental constitutional right.

Kay supported the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Heller v. District of Columbia, which overturned an overly restrictive firearms ban in Washington D.C. and was a victory for all law-abiding citizens. Kay has been a strong supporter of responsible gun ownership in the state Senate, where she earned a B rating from the NRA. Kay pledges to continue to protect gun owners’ rights when she is in the U.S. Senate.
