Asheville Citizen-Times Letter to the Editor: Hagan will vote for Tar Heel state on a consistent basis

I’m supporting Kay Hagan because she understands the needs of North Carolinians and will stand up for people like me every day in the U.S. Senate.

We all realize Washington is broken and we are all frustrated with the ineffectiveness of government to solve the grave problems this country is facing. We need a new face in the Senate that will put North Carolinians first.

Kay has served for a decade in the state Senate and has had the responsibility of co-chairing the state budget. She has been known as a leader who brings people together to solve problems here in North Carolina and she will do the same in Washington.

Kay was born in Shelby, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, married and raised her family in Greensboro. She’s a North Carolinian everyday.

Elizabeth Dole has not lived in North Carolina for many decades, although she was born in N.C. and bought her family home, so she could have a residence here to run for the Senate. She has voted with President Bush 92 percent of the time. Is this what North Carolina needs? I think we need a Senator who will vote for North Carolinians 100 percent of the time.

That person is Kay Hagan.
