Fayetteville Observer, Inside Politics: Low-key Kay Hagan visit

Fayetteville Observer
September 22, 2008

Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Kay Hagan held a kitchen table-style conversation with a family in Fayetteville last week to discuss her plans for the military and veterans.

According to a campaign news release, Hagan met in the home of Dr. Eric and Donna Mansfield, along with other guests, Wednesday afternoon. Hagan is running against U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, a Republican.

On Sept. 12, Hagan announced that she wants to see longer times between deployments, making annual funding for the Veterans Affairs Department mandatory — like Social Security — and helping veterans get better and quicker access to job training and health care.
