Last night proved victorious for state Senator Kay Hagan.
Hagan defeated Jim Neal and other Democratic contenders for the bid to challenge Republican incumbent Senator Elizabeth Dole in November.
She gives her supporters the credit.
“We’ve run an aggressive modern campaign and we’ve done a great grassroots campaign, going across this wonderful state and meeting folks, listening to them, listening to what their issues are and telling them what we’re going to do to fix what’s broken in Washington.”
The work doesn’t stop here-
“I am going to start hard at work tomorrow as we begin the campaign going up against Elizabeth Dole in November.”
The Dole name doesn’t scare Hagan.
“She is well-known. She does have ninety-four percent name recognition. But as I go across the state and tell people I’m running against her, they obviously know her, but then they look at me and they say, ‘I can’t tell you one thing that she’s done for North Carolina.’”
She promises not to forget her Democratic opponents.
“I hope to talk to Jim and Howard and Marcus and Duskin and ask for their help and support as we go forward in this race.”
