Monday in Greensboro: Kay Disccuses Economy, Middle Class

September 29, 2008

GREENSBORO, N.C. – State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Kay Hagan (D-Guilford) will host a small business and entrepreneurial roundtable as a part of her focus on “Making Sense for the Middle Class.” Kay will meet with leadership from the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship and area entrepreneurs to learn more about how the federal government can help support small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Kay will also be available to discuss the economy and how we found ourselves in this place to begin with. Senator Elizabeth Dole has been an ineffective and absentee senator for North Carolina, ranked 93 out of all senators in terms of effectiveness. She also remained silent at over 60 Banking Committee hearings, and the Winston-Salem Journal yesterday chronicled Dole’s stunning absenteeism from North Carolina. The article reported that in 2006 Dole spent just 13 days in North Carolina. In total, since being elected, Dole has only spent 13% of her time in the state she was elected to represent.
