July 25, 2008
GREENSBORO, NC – State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Kay Hagan (D-Guilford) will be traveling around the state this weekend meeting voters and discussing her plans to create good jobs in North Carolina that cannot be shipped overseas. Prior to heading to western North Carolina, she will begin Saturday in Clemmons where she will address the 30th Annual State Convention of North Carolina Senior Democrats. The convention will be held at the Village Inn and Conference Center in Clemmons.
Kay will then travel to western North Carolina where she will hold two Carolina Family Reunions. The first reunion will start at 12:30 p.m. in Brevard, and the second will be at 6:00 p.m. in Sylva. In addition to introducing her immediate family to her extended family of voters at these events, Kay will specifically be addressing her ideas to bring good-paying, stable jobs into North Carolina communities like Brevard and Sylva.
Kay’s weekend continues in Andrews on Sunday where local supporters will host her for “Lemonade on the Lawn” at the Cole House Restaurant. Supporters can join Kay for great afternoon of refreshments and entertainment. Kay will also be talking about her strong record of creating jobs during her tenure in the state Senate and how she is prepared to take that experience with her to Washington to create change at the federal level.
Kay will end her tour of western North Carolina on Sunday afternoon in Bryson City at the River Front Park. Swain County residents are invited to meet Kay and share their concerns about unemployment and trade in light of the current economic downturn and how it has affected them, their families, and their budgets.
