Thursday in Durham: Kay Discusses Proposal To Combat Crime/Gang Violence; Announces Endorsements from Area Sheriffs

GREENSBORO, N.C. – State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Kay Hagan (D-Guilford) will continue her “Best Interests, Not the Special Interests” tour with a focus on her plan to help keep our streets and schools safe from crime and gang violence. Tomorrow in Durham she will discuss her plan and receive the endorsement of Durham County Sheriff Worth Hill. Also scheduled to attend to offer their endorsements will be Chatham County Sheriff Richard Webster, Columbus County Sheriff Christopher Batten, Cumberland County Sheriff Moose Butler, Currituck County Sheriff Susan Johnson, Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight, Nash County Sheriff Dick Jenkins and Vance County Sheriff Peter White. Kay’s discussion about her plans to address crime and gang-related violence will continue in Asheboro and Charlotte, and she will return to Durham on Saturday for a roundtable discussion about those issues with local leaders and community activists.
