Wednesday in Raleigh: Hagan Hears First Hand About Record Gas Prices, Impact on Working Families
GREENSBORO, NC – State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Kay Hagan (D-Guilford) will be at the Glenwood Village Exxon in Raleigh on Wednesday morning to meet consumers and talk to them about the high cost of gasoline and what that means for their families. Kay has released her own energy plan that details how she will combat our energy issues proactively, repealing the billions of dollars in tax breaks for Big Oil and Gas while investing in clean energy entrepreneurs. Other solutions include pushing for increased fuel economy standards and working to end America’s dependence on foreign oil.
Today, gas prices rose to a record $4.08 per gallon on average. When Elizabeth Dole took office in January 2003, gas was $1.52 per gallon on average.
