Weekend: Kay Addresses Rural Access To Broadband Technology, Meets Voters in Chatham, Moore Counties

August 8, 2008

GREENSBORO, N.C. – State Senator and U.S. Senate Candidate Kay Hagan (D-Guilford) will be in Pittsboro this weekend to attend the Chatham County Democratic Breakfast on Saturday morning. She will meet voters and talk about her ideas to fix what is broken in Washington. State Senator Atwater will be present to introduce Kay to attendees of the event.

Kay will then travel to Waxhaw in Union County for a stop on her “Best Interests, not the Special Interests” tour, to discuss access to broadband technology in rural areas. Last week, Kay unveiled her rural policy in eastern North Carolina, and she has made stops across this state this past week, including a wind farm on Beech Mountain, to continue the conversation. Increasing access to broadband technology is an integral part of Kay’s plan to keep North Carolina’s rural areas competitive and vibrant.

Kay will finish the day in Southern Pines where she will speak at the Moore County rally for North Carolina Democratic candidates. Voters will get to meet Kay and hear her opinions on the issues that matter most to North Carolinians.
